BANANA UPSIDE DOWN CAKE

tried by : zaralovebaking ; (delicious but too sweet)..
Cake :
1 1/2 cup plain flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 cup milk
2 banana mashed
3/4 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla essence
125 gm butter
1 egg grade A
Topping :
3 medium bananas cut lengthwise
50 gm butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
Method :
1. Melt butter in a skillet, remove from heat and add brown sugar, stir until sugar is melted.
2. Pour butter mixture onto 8 inch pan, arrange banana, cut into 2 lengthwise on top of sugar mixture.
3. Sift flour, baking powder and baking soda.
4. Beat butter and sugar until creamy. Add salt, vanilla and egg, fold in 1/2 of the flour, mixed well.
5. Mix in mashed banana, milk and balance of flour, stir until well incorporated.
6. Spoon batter over banana topping and spread evenly. Bake in preheated oven at 180'C for 40 to 50 minutes or until a skewer inserted comes out clean.
7. Cool in pan for 10 minutes. Invert onto a serving plate and serve.
