ULTIMATE CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES
adapted from : thezonghan.com...
tried by : zaralovebaking ; (chewy in the inside & crispy on the outside)...
Ingredients :
2 cups bread flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/8 tsp salt
180 gm unsalted butter ; melted
1 cup packed dark brown sugar
1/4 cup fine white sugar
1 egg grade A
1 egg yolk grade A
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (I use 1 cup semisweet choc. chips & 1 cup walnut roughly chopped)
Method :
1. Whisk the flour, baking soda and salt together in a bowl.
2. In another bowl, mix the melted butter and sugars together until smooth. Beat in the egg, egg yolk and vanilla extract until combined, scraping down the bowl and beaters as needed.
3. Add in the dry ingredients. Mix on low speed until combined. Mix in the chocolate chips and the chopped walnuts (if using) until incorporated.
4. Put it in the fridge to set for at least an hour.
5. Preheat oven to 180'C or 160'C fan-forced. Using a 1/4 measuring cup or ice cream scoop, scoop out 1/4 sized of dough at a time, onto the prepared baking sheets, spaced about 2 inches apart.
6. (Optional) Break the dough into 2 and stick them back together, this will give a beautiful cookie.
7. Bake the cookies for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 10 minutes or cool completely before storing in an airtight container...
