EASY APPLE GALETTE
adapted from   :      TipHero.com...

Ingredients :

   1  circle  refrigerated pie crust
2  large  apples of your choice  (a tart apple like Granny Smith) - peeled and cored - cut into slices
1/4  cup  brown sugar
1/4  cup  granulated sugar
   1  tbsp  all-purpose flour
   1  tbsp  lemon juice
1/8  tsp  salt
1/2  tsp  ground cinnamon or combination of cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, allspice (optional)
   2  tbsp  unsalted butter
1  tbsp  cream or half and half
   1  tbsp  coarse sugar

Method :

1.  Preheat oven to 375'F.

2.  On a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, carefully unroll the pie crust.  Set aside while you prepare the filling.

3.  Slice the peeled, cored apples in half, then turn each half so the flat-side is facing down and slice evenly into thin 1/8 inch slices.

4.  In a medium-sized bowl, mix the apple slices with the granulated sugar and brown sugars, flour, salt, lemon juice and ground cinnamon (if using) until the apple slices are evenly coated in the sugar mixture.

5.  Spoon all the apple filling into the middle of the pie crust, leaving about 2 inches of space around the edge of the circle.

6.  Carefully fold the edges of the crust (it will cover 2-3 inches of the apple filling).  The most important, make sure to not tear a hole in the crust where the filling could leak out.

7.  Brush the outside of the crust with the cream, then sprinkle the apples with the coarse sugar over the crust, and add the butter in small pieces over the top.  Sprinkle with ground cinnamon (if using).

8.  Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, until the crust is golden brown and the apples slices are tender.  Best served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream....
