BROWNIE
BROWNIE

Ingredients :
125 gm SCS Butter
125 gm dark cooking chocolate
130 gm castor sugar
2 eggs (grade "A")
1 tsp vanilla essence
125 gm plain flour *
1/4 tsp baking powder * (* sifted together)
100 gm chopped walnuts (pre-toasted)
Topping Ingredients :
200 gm dark cooking chocolate
45 gm butter
extra walnuts for decoration (optional)
8" square cake pan
Method :
Line the bottom of 8" square pan with greaseproof paper and pre-heat oven to 170'C.
To prepare brownie :
1. In a saucepan over low heat, melt butter and chocolate stirring continuously until melted.
2. Remove from heat, stir in sugar until melted.
3. Once mixture is slightly cool, add in eggs and vanilla essence.
4. Slowly mix in sifted flour, baking powder and walnuts.
5. Pour into prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until skewer inserted comes out clean.
To prepare topping :
1. Combine chocolate and butter in a saucepan and cook until melted. Pour on the cakes.
2. Let set completely and cut into squares. You may top with some walnuts for decoration.
