1 cup unsalted butter (226 gm)
3/4 cup white sugar (150 gm)
3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar (160 gm)
2 large eggs
1 1/2 tsp vanilla essence
2 1/4 cup all-purpose flour (295 gm)
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (270 gm)
1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (toasted - optional)
Method :
Beat butter until smooth and creamy. Add white and brown sugar and beat until fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Add vanilla.
In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt. Add the dry ingredients to the egg mixture and beat until incorparated, adding the chocolate chips and nuts (if using). If the dough is too soft, cover and refrigerate until firm (about 30 minutes to two hours).
Drop about 2 tablespoonful onto prepared baking sheets. Bake about 10-14 minutes or until golden brown at 375'F (190'C).
