APPLE CRUMBLE BUTTER CAKE









APPLE CRUMBLE BUTTER CAKE

Ingredients :

200  gm  unsalted butter
100  gm  margarine
200  gm  caster sugar
 1/4  tsp  salt
    4  eggs  gred A or B
250  gm  plain flour
    1  tsp  baking powder
 1/2  tsp  cinnamon powder
    2  apples  (peeled, cored & sliced) -  I use Granny Smith apples
  50  gm  raisins  (I use dried cranberries)


Crumble :

150  gm  plain flour
 1/4  tsp  salt
 1/4  tsp  cinnamon powder
  40  gm  caster sugar
  75  gm  cold unsalted butter


Method :

1.  Grease and line a 20cm (8-inch) square baking pan; preheat oven to 175'C.
2.  Beat butter, margarine, sugar and salt until light and fluffy.
3.  Add in eggs, one at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition.
4.  Fold in sifted flour, baking powder and cinnamon powder.  Stir in apples and raisins/cranberries.  Spread batter into prepared pan.

For the crumble :  combine flour, salt, cinnamon powder and sugar in a bowl.  Rub in cold butter until resembles bread crumbs.  Sprinkle over the cake batter.  Bake in oven for 50 minutes or until cooked.
