APPLE CRUMBLE CAKE RECIPE/
APPLE STREUSEL CAKE

This apple crumble cake is so delicious ! Soft, light and moist sponge cake, a layer of caramelized apples, topped with cinnamon crumble. Easy and tasty cake that anyone can make.
Ingredients :
Caramelized Apples :
3 medium apples, grated (me : use Granny Smith)
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
1 tbsp butter (15 gm)
2 tbsp milk (30 ml)
1 tbsp honey or brown sugar (20 gm)
Crumble :
3 tbsp brown sugar (37 gm)
3 tbsp butter (45 gm)
1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
3 tbsp ground almond (20 gm)
1/2 cup flour (65 gm)
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
Cake :
3 eggs (me : large)
1/2 cup + 2 tbsp sugar (125 gm)
3/4 cup + 1 tbsp oil (200 ml)
3/4 cup + 1 tbsp milk (200 ml)
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp salt
2 cups all-purpose flour (250 gm)
2 tsp baking powder
Directions :
1. Preheat oven to 350'F/175'C. Grease 9-inch/23 cm round baking pan/(springform) lined with parchment paper and greased. Set aside.
2. Caramelized Apples : Peel and grate the apples, then stir with the lemon juice and set aside.
3. Place butter, honey and milk in a pan and melt, stirring frequently over medium heat. Add grated apples and cook, stirring frequently, for about 4-5 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.
4. Crumble : Combine the ingredients for the crumble topping together in a small bowl and Crumble together using your finger tips or a fork. Place in the fridge while making the cake.
5. Cake : In a large bowl or in a bowl of a stand mixer, whisk eggs, sugar and vanilla extract. Whisk until doubled in volume. Gradually add oil and milk while whisking. Add flour, baking powder, salt and stir until combined.
6. Pour the batter to the prepared pan, spread the caramelized apples on top, then sprinkle the crumble on top.
7. Bake for 35-40 minutes until done. Let cool for 10 minutes in the pan, release from the pan and let cool completely. Serve !
