adapted from : dailydelicious.com
Crumble Ingredient :
100 gm cake flour
50 gm granulated sugar
80 gm unsalted butter
A pinch of salt
Filling Ingredient :
2 apple ~ peeled and slice into 1/4-inch pieces (I use 3 apple)
1 1/2 - 2 tbsp granulated sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
Vanilla Sauce Ingredient :
1 egg (I use grade A)
3 tbsp granulated sugar
A pinch of salt
1 tbsp all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp corn flour
250 ml milk
Seed from 1/4 pod of vanilla (I use vanilla essence)
2 tbsp unsalted butter (about 30 gm)
Directions :
Preheat the oven to 180'C. Brush the 18 cm/7-inch pan with butter.
Make the crumble by rubbing the butter, flour and salt together until resemble coarse crumbs. Set aside.
Make the filling, by mixing the sugar and cinnamon powder together. Place the apple into the pan and sprinkle the sugar mixture over the apple. Cover with the crumble (you might have to press a bit to keep them in place).
Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes or until golden.
While baking the crumble, make the sauce.
Put the egg, sugar, both of the flour into the saucepan, whisk until combine.
Heat the milk with the vanilla pod in the microwave for 1 to 1.30 minutes or until heat through.
Take the vanilla pod out then pour into the egg mixture slowly, whisking all the time.
Put the saucepan over low heat, let the mixture to boil (whisking all the time), or until the mixture thickens a bit. Take off the heat and add the butter, whisking slowly until the butter melt.
Pour the sauce into the jug, and it's ready to serve...ENJOY!!!!
