FRIED WONTON RECIPE
FRIED WONTON RECIPE (Thai Style)

Ingredients :
2 sprigs cilantro - optional (daun ketumbar - cincang halus)
1 clove garlic
3 dashes white pepper powder
1/2 cup ground beef/chicken/turkey
1/4 cup shrimp - chopped into small pieces
1 tbsp soy sauce
1/2 tsp sesame oil
1/2 package wonton skin
1/2 cup cooking oil (for deep fry)
Method :
1. For filling : Mince garlic and cilantro. Mix all ingredients together, except for the wonton skin and cooking oil.
2. To make the wonton : Put half (1/2) a teaspoon of the filling in the middle of the wonton skin. Pick up one corner and fold it to the diagonal corner. Pick up the 2 ends that have 45 degrees angle (the ones where the fold is) and wet them with a dab of water on your finger. Pinch the two corners together. You will want to prepare all of your wontons before frying them.
3. Heat up the oil in a frying pan or wok at medium heat. Fry the wonton until golden brown. Serve hot with sweet and sour sauce below...
SWEET and SOUR SAUCE
Ingredients :
1 tsp ground fresh chilli paste
1 pinch salt
3 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp vinegar
2 tbsp water
Method :
Put all ingredients together in a small saucepan and cook on medium heat until the sugar is dissolved. Stir to prevent the sugar from crystalizing on the bottom. Cook until slightly thickened.
